the big C

below, I wrote an email to my father right after he explained that my mom flew to her country - just to visit her brother. My uncle has a terminal cancer. Few months ago, my father and I happened to chat about my uncle. In some way, my father (since he's a doc) knew somehow his smoking habits would lead to this. Uncle "G" is a good man, and a good father. Retired from the military.
Hi dad,

This morning, I got mom's txt msg in my cell - she's on her way to [her country]. I called her immediately, but it ended up a voice mail. I hope mom's safe with her journey. Mom told me to check up on you and "J". So, I'll do that.

i felt sorry about Uncle "G". I'm glad that mom is able to have an opportunity to see her brother. I hope G's family is okay - tita "r", kuya "j", ate "g", ate "b", kuya "b." I agreed with you based on how life is, unavoidable things, and so forth. Once in a while, I look up in the sky - see how beautiful blue color that God created. It's there, but did anyone really notice it? It is amazing how easily I (or people) can forget to take moment of peace. looking up the sky helps.

If mom call u from [her country], let her know that Uncle G and his family in my prayers.

On a happy note, I'm glad you're getting ahead of tech stuff, and mom haven't lose her computer game skills. I'll be happy to come next month to help few things about power point - and see you all. Anyway, I'm doing good and thanks as always.

love always.

Life is beautiful. We cannot take it for granted.
